I Want A Piano
All right, I've gotten to that point: I really, really... no, I mean Really, Want A Piano. An acoustic piano. That's in tune and inviting, and inspiring. I. Want. And. Am. Ready. For. A. Piano. ... Of. My. Own.

Glynn or Veirs?
It has happened with considerable frequency: "Sarah! Oh my God, I just heard you on the radio!" Maybe they did... but more likely they did not. What they probably did hear was my audio doppelganger, Laura Veirs. Luckily, I think Laura Veirs rocks and is a very special & singular solo female artist floating with distinction in the extreme swells of indie music. And so I want to dedicate an entry (regardless of our alleged vocal verisimilitude) to her new album, "July Flame."
It is quality, lyrical quality, musical quality, quality that emerges through care, craft, sincerity and experience. And that is why I loudly endorse this album. Not to mention that thus in my lifetime there continues to be a dearth of truly respected female songwriters. Having a "chick drummer" or "chick" anything completely misses and reinforces my point. But back to "July Flame." Production-wise, Laura Veirs has chosen an interesting path through her last 3 albums. "July Flame" is loosely airy and open but still very focused. The arrangements allow the songs to breathe and thereby show more life.
I'm beginning to spook myself with this post so I will end it now. One more liner note, though: Stephen Barber has written many of the string arrangements on the album. He's just among the coolest... check it out, people! All you people!!

LOTS OF LINKS
So tonight is our big night. The CD release show for our debut album, "Thirteen," at Lamberts in downtown Austin. We're a bit nervous but have been rehearsing a lot, have new songs to debut, and honestly can't wait for the show! Kevin Peroni of Wiretree opens. It's been roughly 13 months since the release of our first EP last January at The Peacock (which has since sadly closed its doors) and so much has happened since then. SXSW is right around the corner in March and then we have a mammoth tour of the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast lined up in April.
Folks have been really kind to Tribella lately in helping to promote our release show and the new album itself, so I wanted to share a few links with you:
-- CMJ - Download This!
-- Indie Sounds NY & Austin
-- Popolio Pop Quiz 2.0
-- Austin Eavesdropper: Music to Celebrate the Sudden Sunshine
We will most definitely post pictures from the show tonight, although I hope you will all be there to have a firsthand experience and help us celebrate! My personal SXSW picks to come soon...

Tribella dress rehearsal & a ghost!
Look closely and you'll see the Tribella ghost of rehearsals past appear in the lower corner. I think this warrants a call to Paranormal Activity!
